EDINBURG, TX — As the United States approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Shalom World is launching “America Prays: One Nation Under God,” a nationwide 30-day virtual prayer initiative from June 4 to July 4, 2026, inviting the faithful across the country to unite online in continuous Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament.
Held in support of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ vision for national spiritual renewal during the nation’s semiquincentennial year, the initiative emphasizes that true freedom and national renewal are rooted in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
This prayer initiative coincides with two historic moments in the life of the nation and the Church: the U.S. bishops’ consecration of the country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in June, and the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026.
Through the power of media and technology, America Prays will bring together individuals, families, parishes, ministries, and communities in a shared virtual experience of prayer and intercession for the nation's spiritual renewal.
“Shalom World is a media apostolate born in prayer and sustained solely by the power of prayer. We firmly believe that only prayer can bring true revival, healing, and transformation to our nation. It is therefore a great joy and privilege for us to lead this prayer initiative and unite people across the country in seeking God’s grace and renewal,” said Santo Thomas, Executive Director of Shalom World.
A 30-Day Virtual Stream of Prayer and Intercession
Throughout the 30 days, Shalom World will livestream continuous Eucharistic Adoration from the Shalom World Chapel, creating an ongoing virtual space of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.
Every 30 minutes, a Rosary will be recited virtually before the Blessed Sacrament by bishops, priests, religious sisters and ministry leaders from across the nation, allowing viewers to join in prayer from their homes, workplaces, or wherever they may be.
Each Rosary will be offered for specific national intentions, including families, children, youth, vocations, the Church, education, civic leaders, peace, healing, and the country's future.
Catholic Leaders Unite in Prayer
“America Prays” will feature participation by Bishops, clergy, religious communities, and Catholic leaders from across the United States, offering a visible witness to unity and intercession for the nation through this online prayer initiative.
