It has been a labor of love from the start and on Sunday, October 21st, SHALOM WORLD Catholic television will premiere its original documentary “Glorious Lives” highlighting the life and legacy of the late Cardinal Francis E. George of the Archdiocese of Chicago. This free screening is open to the public and will begin at 11:15AM CST at Mundelein Seminary, 1000 East Maple Avenue, Mundelein, Illinois.

Executive produced and hosted by Mike Stark, “Glorious Lives” brings the late Cardinal’s life story to viewers through intimate interviews with the people who knew and loved him best—his sister, colleagues, brother priests, Bishops, and Cardinals. Cardinal George was truly a stalwart of the Catholic Faith who lived out its teachings, preached the truth of the Gospel, and lived as Christ’s witness to those around him.

Cardinal George was selected as the first to be featured in this documentary series because of his immense passion for Jesus Christ and His Church. Throughout the filming, both religious and lay shared stories of their interactions with the Cardinal and gave a telling overview of the amazing legacy he left the world.

Francis Eugene George was born into a loving family that fostered his desire for becoming a priest of God. While being stricken with polio in his early teens nearly derailed his path, God’s will for Francis’ life was undeniable; and although the Cardinal often warned others of his unsteady legs, caused by the polio, his faith was unshakable. Cardinal George was a man whom the Church needed at just the right time and his contributions serve as an inspiration to many today. It is a great blessing for SHALOM WORLD to convey his story through Glorious Lives to the Chicago area and then to the entire world.
